Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

Great new opportunity for Electrical Maintenance Supervisor! This position oversees the Melt Shop Electrical maintenance department, reports to the Melt Shop Superintendent. Plan and direct safety, work, and training for all assigned employees. Responsible for supervision of electrical maintenance personnel engaged in electrical maintenance, repair, and servicing of all existing equipment and facilities in rolling mill finishing and shipping at Beaumont Mill location. The Melt Shop Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is primarily responsible for the supervision of melt shop electrical maintenance personnel engaged in breakdown, rebuild and preventive maintenance programs to minimize production downtime due to equipment failure. This position reports to the General Supervisor, Melt Shop maintenance. Reporting to the incumbent are approximately 12 hourly skilled electrical maintenance employees. The incumbent is responsible for maintenance and installation of Furnance, Refractories, Casting, cranes, and other service equipment. The incumbent is responsible for implementing and setting priorities for preventive maintenance programs which includes motor greasing, brush replacement and maintenance, cooling & filter maintenance, cycle out motors for cleaning, greasing and bearing replacement. Also has responsibility to troubleshoot and repair electronic systems including PLC’s and instrumentation. Incumbent is responsible for subordinate selection, training, evaluation, discipline, motivation and safety. Accountable for employee compliance with established safety procedures. Challenges for the incumbent involve minimizing production downtime by proper scheduling and planning of work. The Maintenance Supervisor checks work in progress to insure proper maintenance is being performed, anticipates problems and investigates inadequate equipment performance and takes corrective action.

- This position requires formalized electrical & electronic training and from 8 to 10 years experience in heavy electrical maintenance with an extensive orientation period to the Beaumont Melt Shop equipment.

Under the guidance of Reliability Manager, performs in-house Predictive Maintenance (Pd.M.) services; as well as technical assistance to production, Maintenance Departments, Engineering, project management and outside consultants/contractors. Provides training when needed concerning Predictive Maintenance (Pd.M.) throughout the facility. This position generates and oversees a predicted workload of future potential failures. The maintenance staff is responsible for correcting these potential problems, but this position may assist with troubleshooting and failure analysis to support these corrections. Supports the vision, mission, and quality goals of Optimus Steel. Especially supports the guidance and vision of the Equipment Reliability Process (ERP). - Coordinate Asset Reliability scheduling and planning activities as required.
- Develop Pd.M. routes, gather route readings, analyze route readings, provide assessment, and follow-up reporting. Establish new equipment baselines when required. Daily focus will be on PMs / Pd.Ms.’, and the results of PMs and Pd.Ms.’ using routes.
- Follow a daily route-focused effort to monitor and predict downtime events.
- Generates Work Orders from the Pd.M. effort and conducts rigorous follow-up. Reports non-compliance to Asset Reliability Manager and others as required.

This position is primarily responsible for planning and coordinating proactive maintenance activities on equipment, with involvement in projects and maintenance activities that will improve the reliability of the equipment. The ARP Planner will develop job plans for all planned maintenance, predictive and preventive technologies, in conjunction with reliability technicians, reliability engineers, mill operations, maintenance personnel and suppliers.
This position serves in an advisory capacity to support and coordinate the ARP maintenance management for scheduled and project maintenance to improve equipment reliability. The ARP Planner coordinates the work execution on down-days and outage to ensure planned work compliance and quality. Maintenance Planner will provide coordination, direction and support for implementing and sustaining Asset Reliability Processes (ARP) to improve safety, equipment reliability, and product quality at optimum efficiency and costs by:

The Safety Manager reports directly to the Optimus Steel Vice President of Operations.
This position is responsible for assessing current loss prevention and control efforts (in the area of safety and health) and making recommendations to management for improvement. The incumbent will assist management with the strategic development and implementation of a management accountability system aimed at preventing and controlling losses by identifying and developing role definitions for all levels of the organization; identifying and delivering training to enable performance of roles; developing and implementing a measurement system to evaluate the effectiveness of the overall management system; developing and implementing reward/recognition systems congruent with performance expectations; and developing and implementing communication systems to effectively communicate safety and health issues throughout the organization.
The incumbent evaluates risks and develops guidelines for roles, training, measurements, and rewards for the management system in the areas of employee safety (behaviors, conditions that lead to accidents); industrial hygiene (noise, lead exposure, hazard communication, etc.); property protection (fire suppression systems, inspection procedures, etc.); post Injury and General Claims Management (all lines); OSHA compliance (lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fall protection, OSHA record keeping, etc.); contractors; and job safety analysis.
The incumbent actively participates in accident prevention activities to include inspections, observations, and incident investigations. This position acts in an advisory capacity to management and liaison with OSHA inspections and correspondence.

Job Description
Primary Function: Plan and perform the operation of an electric powered crane mounted on a railroad-type chassis to properly grade and unload scrap from railroad cars and trucks and to reload scrap for transfer to the melt shop. Stockpile as needed following procedures and sequences.
Tools & Equipment: Overhead Dual Magnet Electric Crane
Materials: Scrap metal
Responsibilities:
1. Operates Overhead dual magnet crane to perform the following:
a. Identify various scrap grades and quality, generally repetitive and routine in nature, requiring much care to effectively service the melt shop and safely operate the crane.
b. Operate the crane almost continuously with magnet-type lifting devices.
c. Monitor scrap supply in the melt shop and load scrap as needed.
d. Load scrap according to selected recipe in QMOS and report any changes to supervisor.
e. Coordinates scrap deliveries to the bay from the Scrap Yard with Scrap Yard Operators to ensure continuous supply of scrap is on hand.
f. Help to identify causes/location of suspect scrap for residuals out of spec and report to supervisor any findings.
g. Load melt shop charge buckets.
2. Checks over all working conditions of crane and fills out safety check list, reports discrepancies to supervisor.
3. Assist maintenance personnel in the repair of the crane.
4. Operates the crane in accordance with plant safety procedures and established practices. 5. Keeps crane in a clean and orderly condition.

Great new opportunity for an AC Technician! The ideal candidate will perform maintenance and repair operations necessary to maintain and install air conditioning, heating and refrigeration units.
Duties & Responsibilities
Determine and evaluate the priority of each repair and successfully repair all equipment in order of importance, checks unit to determine nature of trouble, plan procedure of repair, determines and orders all necessary materials and tools required for installation and/or repair, and makes all necessary mechanical repairs to the units being serviced such as replacing bearing, fans, and blowers, etc. Performs new installations of equipment to include duct work, insulating and installing refrigeration tubing. Perform all necessary Refrigerant reports to and submit to the facility Environmental Manager. Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Job Description
This position reports to scrap yard management and the melting supervisor. Responsibilities include operation of locomotives, railcar movements (switching) and the operation of material handling equipment and overhead cranes. This is a 24/7 shift position with work performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Scrap Yard Operators support all scrap delivery and consumption including initial quality and environmental inspection, weighing, data entry, recordkeeping and reporting and inventory management. Pre use inspection and responsible management of equipment is required. Rail – Scrap Yard Operators are responsible for safe rail movement to support plant operations. Including strategic and timely movement of scrap to the melt shop and providing railcars for all other operational needs. Material Handler- Scrap Yard Operators load and unload materials as needed with hydraulic material handlers. Material may be loaded or unloaded from truck, rail, or barge. Overhead Crane- Scrap Yard Operators use overhead cranes to load charge buckets for the furnace. Based on melt schedule and scrap recipes they are key in loading buckets to meet grade requirements. They are responsible for communication of upcoming scrap needs to ensure the prompt delivery of scrap grades to support production.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Drives mobile crane to assigned work areas, assists in assessment of safe rigging and crane capabilities, operates controls to lift, place or transport parts, materials, motors, machinery, etc. 2. Sets-up and operates dual hoist mobile crane with clam bucket to clean scale pits. 3. Operates track hoe to dig for piping, conduit, drainage, etc. 4. Operates boom and track hoe to clean scale out of the mill retention ponds. 5. Checks machines to be operated daily for proper operation and fluid levels. 6. Assist maintenance in maintaining and repairing equipment. 7. Operate all equipment related to Water Treatment Process. Primary Function: To operate the 120 ton EOT Crane. Coordinate between Scrap Yard and Furnace, charges furnace with scrap and fills alloy hoppers.
- Hook scrap buckets and transport to the furnace
- Empty scrap bucket into the furnace
- transport various materials over the melt floor
- remove old and position new electrodes
- remove excess scrap from furnace with Crane.
- add refractory materials to the furnace
- Assist maintenance personnel in the repair of the crane
- Checks overall working condition of the crane and fills out check-off sheet
- Operates crane in accordance to plant safety procedures and established practices
- Coordinate the moving of the crane with the affected crews to avoid delays or production problems.

The Refractoryman reports to the Refractory Supervisor and is responsible of removing, repairing and rebuilding the refractory material in vessels; Prepares and set slide gates and nozzles in ladles and tundish; repairs and calibrates tundish nozzle shooters. Tools and Equipment: trowel, mason hammer, ladder, level, pneumatic hammer, air and water hoses, scaffolds, brick saw, electric mixer, shovels, hoe, pneumatic refractory gun, remote control crane, forklift, small frond end loader, cutting torch, oxygen lance, rigging apparatus, vibrators, turret platform, gas drier, etc. Materials: laddles, ladle lids, tundish, furnace, delta, various types of refractory material, bonding material, coating material, various types and sizes of bricks, blocks, sleeves, heat shields, etc. Primary Duties: 1. Assessment and proper install of refractory material in needed applications. 2. Set up, tear out and installation of EAF patches and Relines. 3. Equipment maintenance of ladles, tundishes, slidegates, tundish gates and equipment used for these applications 4. Proper Housekeeping of Refractory, slidegate, and nozzle tech areas. 5. Great new opportunity for Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor! This position oversees the Melt Shop Mechanical maintenance department. This position reports to the Melt Shop Superintendent. Plan and direct safety, work, and training for all assigned employees. Responsible for supervision of assigned shift engaged in maintenance, repair, and servicing of all existing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and facilities in the melt shop at Beaumont Mill location. The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is primarily responsible for the supervision of a crew engaged in breakdown, rebuild and preventive maintenance programs to minimize production downtime due to equipment failure. This position reports to the General Supervisor, Melt Shop Maintenance. Reporting to the incumbent are approximately 19 hourly skilled maintenance electricians. The incumbent is responsible for maintenance and installation of melt shop equipment and systems (mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic) including cranes, scrap handling equipment and other service equipment. The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for implementing and setting priorities for the preventive maintenance program which includes Mechanical transformers, substitutions, all Melt Shop Mechanical equipment, overhead crane Mechanical systems, PLC’s, and all Melt Shop HVAC equipment. Incumbent is responsible for subordinate selection, training, evaluation, discipline, motivation and safety. Accountable for employee compliance with established safety procedures. Challenges for the incumbent involve minimizing production downtime by proper scheduling and planning of work. The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor checks work in progress to insure proper maintenance is being performed, anticipates problems and investigates inadequate equipment performance and takes corrective action.
